The website Consumer Affairs has chosen a Delaware County community as one of the five best place to move to in Pennsylvania, writes Max Bennett for Patch.
Drexel Hill placed at No. 2 among the top five destinations in the state for affordability, safety, economic strength, health care, education, and the quality of life.
“Drexel Hill, a prominent neighborhood within Upper Darby less than 10 miles from downtown Philadelphia, stands out for its urban convenience,” the website reads. “It is highly walkable and offers a strong economy, on top of being a short driving distance from several major cities, including New York and Washington, D.C.“
Consumer Affairs ranked Drexel Hill third for economic strength for having the second highest average job growth between 2019 and 2024, and the fifth lowest share of population below the poverty line.
Also, 94 percent of Drexel Hill residents live within a 10-minute walk to a park.
The community also ranks seventh for health care access, with 28.7 health care professionals per 1,000 residents.
It’s also a well-educated town, with 94 percent of residents earning at last a high school diploma.
