Accupac is consolidating its operations in Pennsylvania as the Harleysville manufacturer prepares to close a New Jersey production facility, writes John George for The Philadelphia Business Journal.
According to a filing submitted to New Jersey labor officials, the company plans to shut down its manufacturing plant in Lakewood, New Jersey, with layoffs beginning in August and continuing through the end of 2026. The move will shift more of the company’s operations closer to its Montgomery County footprint. They have facilities in Harleysville, Souderton and Mainland near Lansdale.
Accupac specializes in the manufacturing and packaging of beauty, personal care and over-the-counter healthcare products. The company produces a wide range of consumer items, including toothpaste, shampoo, lotions, creams, and cold medicine products for national brands.
The workforce reductions in New Jersey are expected to impact warehouse workers and production staff. Company filings indicate a small number of employees will transfer to Pennsylvania facilities in comparable roles.
The consolidation reflects the company’s broader effort to centralize operations within southeastern Pennsylvania, where it maintains its largest operational presence.
The privately held company lists between 500 and 1,000 employees on LinkedIn and remains one of the region’s larger personal care manufacturing firms.
