CCP Now Cardiology Walk-in Clinic Now Open in Springfield

The reception and waiting room areas of the new CCP Now cardiology walk-in clinic now open in Springfield.

In another response to Delaware County’s loss of urgent care facilities, a walk-in cardiology clinic has opened in Springfield, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia has already treated about 60 patients at the clinic in the past three weeks.

The  CCP Now clinic provides evaluation and treatment for patients with urgent but non-life-threatening heart-related symptoms like chest pain, shortness of breath, or heart palpitations.

Cardiology Consultants is the region’s largest independent cardiology practice. CCP Now and its four exam rooms are an extension of its offices at 760 W. Sproul Road.

“The entire medical arena kind of changed in this area with the closure of Crozer Health,” said Dr. Rob Scherr, a Springfield-based cardiologist at Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia. “A lot of our patients were having just no ability to get any sort of urgent access, especially for cardiac things.”

Three or four doctors, an advanced nurse practitioner, a nurse, and a medical assistant staff the clinic. There is same-day lab testing and advanced diagnostic services such as bedside echocardiograms, CT scans, coronary computed tomography angiography for detecting blockages and plaque buildup, and stress testing.
