There’s a lot happening at Subaru Park in Chester, from new lighting to an upgrade to the concession and retail areas, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal. .
There are more food and beverage options, new sponsors, and a new concession operator, Aramark.
Philadelphia Union President Tim McDermott said the new multimillion-dollar stadium lighting keeps up with the latest trend at live sports events.
“The new wave at stadiums is to have these theatric openings and entertainment throughout the game through the ability to sync your lights with music and with celebrations,” McDermott said.
The Union has a new craft spirits partner, Chester County’s Copper Bonnet Distillery. Visit PA is also on board as a sponsor, along with Keystone Outdoor Living.
Keystone is at work enhancing a river deck at the end of the adjacent WSFS Sportsplex to include a bar, kitchen concept, cabanas, and drink rails.
Evolve security technology has been installed at stadium entry points
The Philadelphia Union also launched its first mobile app for fans.
“The overarching theme for us in this offseason has been improving the overall match day experience,” McDermott said.
