This borough made a list of best places to live in the nation.

Three Delaware County towns have found a spot on the best places to live in the United States, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Niche recently released its latest annual rankings, based on data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the FBI, the Department of Education, the IRS, and other sources. To determine the rankings, the company focused on metrics such as affordability, local housing markets, neighborhood diversity, public schools, and walkability, among others.

Swarthmore ranked highest, coming in at No. 28 nationwide after surging 12 spots from last year, which is a notable rise up the table. It is also the fifth-highest-ranked community in the region.

Rose Valley placed at No. 161, which puts the Delaware County town at eighth in the Philadelphia region.

Rounding out the list is Nether Providence Township, which came in at No. 303 nationwide and No. 12 in the region.

Leading the Philadelphia region is Ardmore in seventh position nationwide, with Devon at eighth and Penn Wynne coming in ninth place.
