Local investors who now own the former Taylor and Springfield hospitals have laid out different expectations for each facility, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
KQT Aikens Partners, spearheaded by Todd Strine and Justin Misner, has purchased both Crozer Health hospitals for $1 million each following the Prospect Medical Holdings Inc. bankruptcy.
For Taylor in Ridley Park, Strine sees multiple tenants under one health system, including physician groups.
“We’ve got a group from California coming in, and we’re seeing a lot more interest from physician groups who want to invest in their own facilities and [ambulatory surgery centers],” said Strine, owner and CFO of Springfield ambulance company Keystone Quality Transport.
KQT Aikens Partners is now marketing the former Taylor Hospital nationally with help from Chicago-based commercial real estate company Avison Young. They’ve also renamed it the Ridley Park Medical Campus.
Strine is also hoping for “some level of state support” to help bring in a large health system to Taylor.
Springfield Hospital would be ideal as a specialty hospital, such as a medical center that focuses on cancer care or transplant surgeries, along with a 24/7 ER component, Strine said.
