PHL Looks to Set Guinness World Record with Cheesesteak Line

The hope is to create the longest line of cheesesteaks in the world at the Philadelphia International Airport and get into the Guinness Book of World Records.

PHL Food & Shops at Philadelphia International Airport is joining forces with the City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation to whip up a record-breaking “Longest Line of Cheesesteaks,” writes Cherise Lynch for NBC10 Philadelphia.

To celebrate National Cheesesteak Day on March 24, every cheesesteak restaurant at the airport, including Chickie’s & Pete’s, Geno’s Steaks, Jim’s South St. Famous Cheesesteaks, Passyunk Steaks, and Tony Luke’s, will team up to create a continuous line of Philly cheesesteaks stretching across the connector between Terminals B and C.

A Guinness World Records official will be on site to oversee the attempt. They will check the final count and confirm whether the milestone has been reached.

The epic challenge is just one of many events during PHL Cheesesteak Week at the airport, running from March 23 to March 29. Travelers can savor exclusive cheesesteak-inspired dishes, enjoy special meal deals, and join in interactive celebrations honoring Philadelphia’s beloved sandwich all week long.
