Marple Newtown High School graduate Taylor Anderson-Heide is competing in the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, writes Max Bennett for Patch.
The 30-year-old Broomall woman now living in Minneapolis will compete in curling at the Games.
Anderson-Heide and her twin sister, Sarah, have grown up with curling. Their parents, Wayne and Arlene Anderson, are originally from Winchester, Ontario.
In 2012, at age 16, Taylor and Sarah competed for Team USA at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck, where they finished fifth in mixed team competition.
In the next four years, Taylor won back-to-back junior national titles with Sarah and teammate Cory Thiesse, including winning a silver medal at the 2016 junior world championships in Copenhagen.
The University of Minnesota graduate has gold medals at the U.S. Women’s Championship in 2019, 2021, and 2025.
She also took gold at the 2025 U.S. Olympic trials and at the U.S. Mixed Doubles National Championship in 2015 and 2018.
Anderson-Heide credited her sister as a positive force throughout her life.
“It’s the support system that gets you through it,” she said in an article by Ben Hoppe for Rock League. “That’s why I’m still doing this.”
