Valley Forge Military College to Cover School Costs for Qualifying Students

The Pennsylvania Pledge offers full financial coverage for qualifying Pennsylvania students participating in the Citizen Leader Pathway program at the Valley Forge Military College in Wayne.

Valley Forge Military College in Wayne has launched The Pennsylvania Pledge, a financial initiative designed to make higher education more accessible for Pennsylvania residents, according to a staff report from the Main Line Times & Suburban.

Through the new program, Valley Forge Military College, recognized as The Military College of Pennsylvania, will cover the full amount of demonstrated financial need for qualified Pennsylvania students enrolled full-time in the College’s Citizen Leader Pathway. This includes the full cost of tuition, room and board, required uniforms, and fees.

“As Pennsylvania’s Military College, we have a responsibility to open doors – not close them,” said Colonel Stuart B. Helgeson, USMC (Ret.), President of Valley Forge Military College. “The Pennsylvania Pledge ensures that cost is never the reason a deserving Pennsylvania student is unable to attend VFMC and pursue a transformative education grounded in character, discipline, and leadership.”

Using the Student Aid Index from FAFSA and supporting documentation, VFMC will determine financial need and obtain funding from federal and state aid, Pennsylvania State Grant funds, outside scholarships, institutional aid, and eligible federal student and parent loans.

“We call this The Pennsylvania Pledge because it truly is a pledge to our Commonwealth,” said Helgeson.
