Jason Kelce revealed on a recent New Heights podcast that he has a 30-day plan to dunk his first basketball, writes Tim Ryan for Men’s Journal.
Some are skeptical that the retired Eagles center from Haverford can make it happen.
Jason Kelce has kept busy and visible since his retirement. The 38-year-old does broadcast work for ESPN, co-hosts New Heights with brother Travis, and is involved in numerous commercials and endorsements.
Now he wants to dunk a basketball.
The former 300-plus-pound player, who has been successfully losing weight, has put himself on a 30-day training program in the weight room to make his vertical higher, though he acknowledged he was “about to pop my Achilles.”
“I wanna do a video where I try to dunk over 30 days. I’m gonna try and dunk, and you know I can’t dunk,” Kelce said to Travis Kelce.
Kelce maintains he’s “been close” and “high enough” so he’s not that far off from dunking.
But even his brother was skeptical.
“Time and athleticism have caught up to you to the point where I think you have missed the sweet spot for dunking,” the Chiefs star tight end said.
