If pumpkin pie just isn’t going to cut it at this year’s Thanksgiving feast, there’s always Devour Desserts in Aston, reports Bob Kelly for Fox 29 News.
The dessert company off Rt. 452 features handmade truffles, chocolate-dipped fruit, celebration cakes, cupcakes, and dessert sampler boxes.
“All we do is delicious,” reads the company’s motto on its website
Owner Misty Soloman started dipping fruits into chocolate in her kitchen at home and just kept going.
“I have a passion for making all things delicious as a self-taught chocolatier and baker,” she wrote on the business website.
She started Devour Desserts in 2011 as an alternative to Edible Arrangements.
Twelve years later, the business serves 2,000 customers a month with a team of culinary artists at its Aston and Mantua, New Jersey stores.
Its variety of special desserts and cakes includes the Philly butter cake, a dessert Soloman’s grandpop always took to parties and events when she was growing up.
“We took the regular vanilla butter cake and added a whole bunch of flavors—vanilla, chocolate chip, chocolate, pumpkin …” she said.
For the holidays, there’s a turkey cake, a cannolo dipping board, and a Nutter Butter Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookie.
