Wawa Prototype Store in New Jersey a Sign of Things to Come

A new Wawa store design that has debuted in other states has now come to New Jersey.

A new prototype design for a Wawa store debuts for the first time in New Jersey on Thursday, reports silive.com.

The Salem County store redesign, at 245 S. Broadway in Pennsville, has made appearances in other states since it was first unveiled two years ago.

The Wawa exterior has a V-shaped steel column and asymmetric lines inspired by a flying geese formation, in deference to Wawa’s mascot, Wally Goose.

The outside walls are wood and brick, according to a Wawa statement.

The fuel canopy for the store’s gas pumps complement the main building’s interior and exterior colors, materials, and architectural features.

The new Wawa store has no-charge air stations, more visible food service through windows stretching around the façade, and improved lighting and landscaping.

Inside, there are special selections of colors on the walls, larger food and beverage displays, an extended food service selection, multiple digital screens, public restrooms, and surcharge-free ATMs.

The opening of the New Jersey store includes free T-shirts for the first 100 customers and four days of free coffee.

The event includes Wawa’s signature “Hoagies for Heroes” competition between local first responders and a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Wawa Wally Goose mascot.
