Delaware County Taylor Swift fans lined up outside Springfield Target on Oct. 3 for the midnight release of the singer’s latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” according to a staff report from 6abc.
Fans were given tickets that ensured they would be among the first to purchase exclusive vinyl and CD editions of Swift’s 12th studio album, available only at the retailer.
“My Target team is huge Swifties, so we’re excited to be able to celebrate with them,” said Target store manager Meghan Anton.
The Springfield Target is among the around 500 stores that stayed open after midnight to celebrate the launch.
“What could be better than standing in line with your best Swiftie friends?” added Jeannie McCauley.
Collin Allego, from Swarthmore, was there as a stand-in for his wife, who had recently given birth to their son.
Swift announced the release of her album in August on the New Heights podcast, hosted by her fiancé, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and his brother, Jason Kelce.
