Mirror Mirror Salon & Suites Now Open in Springfield

Mirror Mirror Salon & Suites in Springfield offers professional beauty services and brings the salon suite concept to Pennsylvania.

Christina Christy-Belahbib of Springfield has just opened what she believes is Pennsylvania’s first salon suite.

Mirror Mirror Salon & Suites in Springfield opened a few weeks ago at 891 Baltimore Pike.

The grand opening was attended by Springfield Township Manager Steve Lucas, Springfield Township’s Second Ward Commissioner Gina Sage, and Springfield Township’s Third Ward Commissioner Kevin Dion.

The state-of-the-art salon store has 21 salon suites for rental and a retail store for product sales.

Sixteen staffers on site can offer hair and waxing services, Spray Tanning, Teeth Whitening, and more.

Christina, who “always wanted to do hair,” has been in the business since she was 16. She owned a smaller Mirror Mirror salon at 444 Baltimore Pike for about 8 years, but as she added more staff, the space became too small.

“I wanted a space like this where I can teach and guide the next generation of cosmetologists in the area,” she said.

Salon suites are most popular in the western United States, with individual salons that are leased out in a larger building.

Multiple beauty professionals operate their businesses independently but under the same roof.  They bring their own clients in and handle everything from scheduling to décor to product selection and pricing.

It’s a more affordable option for salon owners. For customers, it means one-stop shopping for hair stylists,  skincare, nail technicians, massage therapists,  and more.

Mirror Mirror offers salon owners one-, two-, and five-year leases, but Christina can also help get them started, with advice and a $500 sign-up gift card.

“You still have to buy everything, you still have to supply everything, and when you’re not having somebody supply that for you, it becomes expensive,” she said.

Mirror Mirror provides a receptionist, the expertise of others connected to the salon and beauty business, and classes to help new salon owners.

“I mean, the whole point is I want people to succeed, I want them to grow themselves, I want them to feel the way I felt when I grew my business, you know what I mean?”

The salon suite is on the top floor of a former medical building. It has its own parking and a 24/7 private entrance for the salon owners.

“The salon part of it is gorgeous. I mean, everybody’s so happy,” she said.

Mirror Mirror supplies the salon owners with washers and dryers, refrigerators, and microwaves.

There’s a coffee bar, snacks, complimentary champagne, and soda in the common area.

For Christina, beauty services are more than just hair, skin, and nails. It’s also about building relationships and making people feel good.

“This business really does uplift people,” she said. “So when they walk in  here, I want them walking out at least feeling, you know, a little better than they did when they came in.”
