Gather Place to Host “A Special Evening to Remember the Ladies!”

The Annual Fundraiser, America 250th Launch, and Community Networking Night is set for Friday, October 17th, 2025 from 5-8 p.m.

Gather Place is proud to announce, “A Special Evening to Remember the Ladies!”—a Victorian-era inspired fundraiser and the launch of its America 250th programs. The evening draws inspiration from Abigail Adams’ 1776 letter to her husband John Adams, urging him to “remember the ladies” during the founding of the United States. Guests will celebrate America’s women history makers while connecting educators, community partners, and civic leaders for meaningful networking.

The reception, in collaboration with Experience Yardley, will be held at the historic Yardley Friends Meeting House and will feature keynote remarks by Former Pennsylvania Governor Mark Schweiker, Co-chair of America250PA. Attendees will enjoy light refreshments, America 250th-themed gifts and information, interactive Gather Place programs, and live storytelling by period-dressed interpreters.

This annual event serves as both a fundraiser and a networking hub for America 250th history partners, educators, and community-based organizations. It reflects Gather Place’s mission to ensure that America’s full story is told—honoring both well-known figures and overlooked voices.

“In just three years, Gather Place has brought America’s history—both local and national—to life. With our 2026 event and program bookings already filling up, my team is energized and ready for what’s next! History isn’t just studied—it’s lived, felt, and shared. Bucks County, thank you for three amazing years of your warmth, support, and enthusiasm—truly unforgettable!” shares Shirley Lee Corsey, Gather Place Executive Director.

With the support of Bucks250PA, The Bucks County Tourism Grant Program, America250PA, and the SemiQuin Grant, Gather Place has quickly become a vital voice for inclusive storytelling. Through collaborations with museums, libraries, classrooms, and local organizations, the museum is expanding its reach and playing a key role in Bucks County’s 250th America commemorations.
