A North Jersey developer has expanded its Bucks County portfolio with the purchase of the building that houses the Dubliner on the Delaware restaurant in New Hope, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The Irish pub at 34 N. Main Street was acquired by 34 N. Main Property LLC, registered to Landmark Developers, for $1.8 million. The restaurant sits between two other Landmark-owned sites, where the company had previously proposed constructing a boutique hotel with a restaurant.
It is currently unclear what the new owner plans on doing with the Dubliner building, which was built in 1875.
The restaurant itself is owned by Robert and Margaret Lynch, who opened the popular pub ten years ago in the former home of the Mothers’ Restaurant.
The bar’s name was inspired by the popular folk group The Dubliners, of which Lynch’s father, the famous Irish musician Bob Lynch, was once a member.
For now, the Dubliner remains open, with its last day of business set for December 28, three days before the current lease expires. Landmark is currently in negotiations for a new five-year lease with Lynch.
