The Annual Polish-American Family Festival and Country Fair is returning for its 59th year to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.
The event is taking place from 12 PM to 8 PM from Friday, Aug. 30 to Monday, Sept. 1 and again on Sept. 6 and 7.
Attendees will gather at 654 Ferry Road in Doylestown to learn about and celebrate traditional Polish culture. Activities like arts and crafts, live entertainment, midway rides and re-enactments will be available.
The festival will feature award-winning polka and disco bands, along with Polish folk-dance groups from across North America. The Polish American String Band will be performing at 12:45 PM on Sunday, Sept. 7.
Re-enactments will be demonstrated by the Banner of Jasna Gora and the World War II Living History group.
Guests can enjoy a variety of Polish cuisine, including pierogis, potato pancakes (placki), smoked and grilled kielbasa, pastries, Polish beer, and stuffed cabbage rolls (gołąbki).
Funnel cake, chicken fingers, hot dogs and water ice will also be available for purchase.
Admission for the event is $15 and covers parking, entrance to the rides, and access to stage shows and special events.
