Neil Beck of Ardmore Has Cornered the Market on Sports Jerseys

Neil Beck of Ardmore holds up his most prized Eagles jersey.

For the Philadelphia Eagles’ home opener Thursday night against the Dallas Cowboys, Ardmore resident Neil Beck watched the game in his man cave, wearing the QB1 Jalen Hurts jersey.

The Delaware County sports fan had plenty of jerseys from which to choose, writes Nikki DeMentri and Tom Gardiner for CBS News Philadelphia.

“This house is like a museum,” Beck said of his home.

He’s a “jersey collecting enthusiast” with an estimated 1,700 jerseys from hockey, baseball, basketball, and football teams.

“This is the jersey I spent the most money on, $700. But I took home this rookie circa 1976, Ron Jaworski. That’s not Jared Goff,” Beck said, holding up the jersey.

Beck’s collection started with the Eagles back in 1992, when they were wearing the Kelly Greens.

In his closet? A history of the Eagles uniform from 1933 to Super Bowl LIX, including his first and most prized Birds jersey.

He held up a Fletcher Cox replica jersey with the Super Bowl LII patch.

Beck admitted there are also a few Cowboys jerseys in his collection.

He plans to keep collecting as long as he’s able to pay his light and Wi-Fi bills, and has no plans to sell anything.
