Next ‘Navigating Our Health Care System’ Event Set for Tuesday

A medical helicopter landing at the former Crozer Chester Medical Center. Since Crozer's closing, the county health department has been hosting information sessions to help patients transition to new providers.

Former Crozer patients and community members are invited to attend a free walk-in event Sept. 30, “Navigating Our Health Care System: Supporting One Another During Challenging Times”.

The event, sponsored by the Delaware County Health Department, will take place from 1 to 4:30 PM at the Keystone First Wellness Opportunity Center, 1929  W. 9th Street in Chester.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a cell phone and a valid ID if they would like to receive assistance in obtaining their medical records.

With the closing of Crozer and Taylor hospitals this past year, residents were left with little guidance for transitioning to new providers.

In response, DCHD held “Navigating our Health Care System” events that have supported hundreds of Delaware County residents.

The success of these past events has garnered significant recognition, leading to many requests for their return.

Since the conclusion of this summer’s senior series, DCHD has continued to receive calls for these vital support services and is excited to host this additional support event.

“When a major hospital closes, it leaves more than empty buildings – it leaves families uncertain about where to turn for care,” said Delaware County Health Department Director Lora Siegmann Werner. “Our goal with these outreach events is to give residents clear, practical support so they can continue accessing the doctors, records, and resources they need without interruption.”
