Two Philly Sandwich Shops Rank Among Top 100 in America, According to Inaugural Yelp List

To mark National Sandwich Month, Yelp has released a ranking of the top 100 delis in the U.S., and Philadelphia was represented with two entries.

Yelp has released its inaugural list of the top 100 delis in the United States and two Philadelphia sandwich shops can be found on the list, writes Abigail Chachoute for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

At No. 40 on the list is Christie’s Deli. The Logan Square deli, which has been around for about 10 years, earned a 4.8 star Yelp rating, compiled from over 200 customers.

Many of the Yelp reviewers praise Christie’s Deli for its breakfast sandwiches, friendly service, and variety of menu options.

Meanwhile, Antonio’s Deli — which has a location in Passyunk Square and more recently in University City, respectively — ranked No. 94 on the list.

Also having been in operation for about a decade, Antonio’s Deli is known for serving cold hoagies and hot homemade sandwiches. The latter’s sandwich options include the meatball, roast beef, pork, and chicken cutlet sandwiches.

The Yelp Top 100 Sandwich Shops list was compiled through reviewers’ feedback, as well as the volume of reviews and ratings, among other factors. About 40 U.S. cities were represented on this list.
