The U.S. Women's National Soccer Team is playing at Subaru Park in October.

The U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team is coming to Subaru Park in October to participate in a friendly match that will honor retiring stars, writes Nick Kariuki for BillyPenn at WHYY.

The stop off in Chester is actually one of three games that will celebrate retiring players Alex Morgan and Alyssa Naeher.

The team will face Portugal twice in October, first at  Subaru Park, home of the Philadelphia Union on  Oct. 23, then at Pratt & Whitney Stadium in East Hartford, Conn. On Oct. 26.

The team will play a third game in Kansas City on Oct. 29, but an opponent has not yet been determined.

The Subaru Park game includes a pregame retirement celebration for Morgan. The San Diego Wave striker retired last September after finishing her international career with two FIFA World Cup championships and an Olympic gold medal.

Morgan scored the first of her 123 international goals 15 years at Subaru Park against China.

Goalkeeper Naeher, U.S. Soccer’s 2024 Female Player of the Year, will be celebrated in her home state of Connecticut in the second match. She retired last November but has continued to play for the NWSL’s Chicago Stars.
