Home town fans of Carli Lloyd will have a chance to see her play one last game at Subaru Park in Chester before her retirement, writes Melanie Anzidei for NorthJersey.com.

The Rutgers University graduate grew up 15 miles outside of Philadelphia, in Delran, New Jersey.

Lloyd is one of the most decorated soccer players in national and New Jersey history and a star on the United States Women’s National Team.

Lloyd plays for Gotham FC, which announced the Oct. 6 match against the Washington Spirit at Subaru Park, home of the Philadelphia Union.

“I have played many games at Subaru Park with the National Team and to have the opportunity to play in front of my home crowd on the club level will be an amazing memory. Let’s be loud and fill the stadium!” she said.

Lloyd debuted with the national team at 23.

She is one of the longest tenured USWNT players, a two-time World Cup champ, two-time Olympic gold medalist, and two-time FIFA Player of the Year.

She and the US Women’s National Soccer Team won a bronze at the Tokyo Olympics.

The Oct. 6 match is her first time playing in the Philadelphia area with a club team.
