Lancaster-based Keystone Custom Homes is planning to develop a new residential community with 76 high-end homes on an 80-acre site in Westtown Township, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Stonecroft Ridings, proposed for 1013 Shiloh Road, would include homes that will range from 3,000 to 5,000 square feet.
The plan was reviewed by the Chester County Planning Commission last month. Currently, it is proceeding through the township approval process.
According to Ben Rutt, Keystone Custom Homes’ vice president of sales and marketing, the development could be open for sales in approximately two years.
The land for the planned residential community was purchased in 2021 by an entity affiliated with Keystone Custom Homes for $5.15 million. That same entity acquired an adjacent parcel at 1011 Shiloh Road in 2023 for $4 million.
Rutt added that Chester County is currently experiencing strong demand for new construction.
“While we’re adding higher-end custom homes here, the buyer that’s purchasing it is coming from somewhere, and that’s freeing up their home, which is freeing up another home,” said Rutt. “That’s creating affordability across the spectrum, which, as we know, is desperately needed.”
