Montco Leaders Announce Over $4M in Funding. Where is it All Going?

Montco approved over $4M in contracts, with most funding going toward housing services, elections, and public safety needs.

Montgomery County leaders approved more than $4 million in new contracts last week, reports Rachel Ravina for The Mercury.

The bulk of the funds will focus on fighting housing instability and homelessness, particularly for residents living with serious mental health challenges.

The county awarded a nearly $2.25 million annual contract to Fort Washington-based Access Services. The company will provide housing administrative support for those transitioning out of mental health facilities or facing homelessness. Abington’s Hedwig House and Philadelphia’s Columbus Property Management also secured housing-related contracts.

Funding for these initiatives comes through state mental health grants and reinvestment programs. All three contracts have options for renewal annually.

Beyond housing, the county allocated $840,000 to renew its partnership with Phoenix Graphics for upcoming election mailings through 2026.

Other contracts included nearly $200,000 for youth food services through US Foodservice. About $157,000 will go to purchasing four hybrid and fuel-efficient vehicles for the District Attorney’s Office.

The County also announced they are seeking a firm to evaluate senior leadership compensation.
