Japanese flavor has come to Newtown Square through Hiramasa, a much-anticipated restaurant that opened this past November, reports Bob Kelly of Kelly Drives for Fox 29.
Kelly noted that, unlike other restaurants, Hiramasa transforms its customers to feel as if they are in Japan.
The restaurant’s website describes Hiramasa as a “gateway to the rich traditions and vibrant flavors of Japanese cuisine.”
The menu blends time-honored recipes with innovative culinary techniques to create “the freshest and most authentic flavors from the sea and beyond.”
The menu offers premium sashimi and nigiri selections, signature rolls, and grilled teriyaki dishes..
Owner Sam Li describes the restaurant as “modern Japanese,” where the focus is on presenting each dish elegantly.
A popular offering is the O.M.G Roll, Shrimp Tempura, avocado, and mango rolled inside, topped with spicy tuna, shiracha, and eel sauce.
A unique option is meat dishes prepared on a stone grill, such as the Wagyu beef entrée, served with side sauces.
“We’re going to cook the Wagyu beef on the hot rock. They do that right at your table,” Li said.
Hiramasa also has a cocktail bar with creative signature cocktails, along with sake, Japanese hot tea, and more.
