Newsweek has released a ranked list of the best convenience store retailers in the nation, based on an independent survey of customers.
The good news is Wawa made the list of Newsweek’s America’s Best Retailers 2025 in the convenience store category.
The bad news? It wasn’t first.
That honor goes to Buc-ee’s, which tops the list of best convenience-store retailers, writes Hannah Hammond and Bill Wilson for CSP.
Coming in second was Sheetz, followed by QuikTrip, then Wawa. Last among the top five was GetGo.
Newsweek partnered with Statista to tabulate an independent survey of participants who had made purchases, used services, or gathered information about products or services within the past three years.
Final rankings were based on survey respondents’ likelihood to recommend the retailer, along with five evaluation criteria: products, customer service, atmosphere, accessibility, and store layout.
Texas-based Buc-ee’s came in with a score of 92.78. Altoona, Pennsylvania-based Sheetz measured out at 90.73.
Oklahoma-based QuikTrip earned a 90.44 while Delaware County’s Wawa pulled in an 89.71.
GetGo Café + Market, owned by Giant Eagle based in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania before being sold to Quebec-based Alimenation Couche-Tard, scored an 89.16.
