Swarthmore Customers Enthusiastic Over Luna’s Mexican Grill

Luna's Mexican Grill brings a Mexican restaurant experience to Swarthmore.

Luna’s Mexican Grill has been open less than three months, but word of mouth has been filling the tables at the newer BYOB restaurant at 6 Park Avenue, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Daily Times.

The family-friendly restaurant replaces the former Village Vine, which closed in early March.

Only a week later, Luna’s was renovated and ready to serve authentic Mexican cuisine from Northern Mexico and Tex-Mex ‘comfort foods’ originating in El Paso, Texas.

Owner Cristina Luna Ramirez and her team provide warm and gracious hospitality to complete the dining experience.

Ramirez, a lifelong Texas resident, moved to Delaware County in 2023 after visiting her daughter, Amanda Hernandez of Wallingford, and falling in love with the area.

Hernandez, and her husband, Steven, own the Grocery Outlet in Sharon Hill.  Amanda also helps out at the restaurant.

“My taco recipes are from my home in El Paso,” Ramirez said. “This is the food that I grew up on. I have always cooked for a large family. My brother had seven kids, and we always had at least 15 kids to feed for every holiday and occasion!”

All taco varieties are made with fresh corn tortillas.
