Two Montgomery County Walmarts Set for Big Remodels

West Norriton and Pottstown Walmarts are set for major upgrades, including refreshed designs, expanded services, and improved pharmacy areas.

Two Montgomery County Walmarts are getting a fresh new look as part of a major national remodel effort, writes Justin Heinze for the Patch.

The West Norriton location on South Trooper Road and the Pottstown store on Shoemaker Road are among 650 stores nationwide — and 26 in Pennsylvania — slated for updates, Walmart announced Wednesday.

The planned upgrades include a refreshed store design, expanded merchandise selection, enhanced online pickup and delivery services, and major improvements to the pharmacy areas, such as private screening rooms and wider aisles. Shoppers can also expect larger signage, updated displays, and more variety on the shelves.

“Our stores often serve as the heartbeat of the communities we operate in, and these remodels are a testament to our dedication to enhancing that role,” said Annie Walker, senior vice president of Walmart’s east business unit.

While Pennsylvania has 159 Walmart locations overall, the company hasn’t yet shared plans for additional store renovations beyond this current wave.
