The Foundation for Delaware County announces that the second annual Delco Gives event raised more than $2.1 million from over 11,500 donors in support of 306 nonprofits.
This year’s event featured celebrations across the county, including at Dining Under the Stars in Media with special guest Cecily Tynan from 6abc and performances by Maci Lago, Next Gen Theatre, the Strath Haven High School Silvertones, and the Media Theatre.
Tailgate gatherings took place on May 8 in communities throughout Delaware County, leading up to a closing celebration at Rose Tree Park on May 9, headlined by Jenn Frederick from FOX-29.
Several nonprofits exceeded their fundraising goals. The Media-Upper Providence Free Library received the highest number of individual donors—671 in total—and raised more than $58,000. The Historic Lansdowne Theatre raised over $36,000 from more than 500 donors, and Aneway brought in more than $50,000.
“The Foundation is deeply grateful to everyone who contributed—whether through donations, volunteering, putting up yard signs, or joining us in celebration,” said Frances Sheehan, President of The Foundation for Delaware County. “Delco Gives has become a true expression of community pride and generosity. Special thanks to Power Home Remodeling for stepping up as the presenting sponsor for year two. It was a joyful and inspiring two days, and we can’t wait to do it again next year!”
