Two Walmart stores in Delaware County are slated to get modern makeovers, part of a group of 26 Walmarts receiving the upgrades in Pennsylvania, reports Philly Bite Magazine.
Walmart stores in Glenolden and Boothwyn will undergo renovations throughout 2025, part of a nationwide modernization campaign Walmart is conducting.
The goal is to achieve a more modern and inviting look while also enhancing the overall customer experience.
Walmart unveiled a plan in January 2024 to dedicate more than $9 billion toward upgrading its 650 stores in 47 states and Puerto Rico.
The effort will generate thousands of jobs and provide shoppers with a more convenient and appealing atmosphere while integrating online and in-store services.
Specifically, the space will feature a brighter, more modern look and feel, with updated interior designs, bold and clear signage, and new, engaging merchandise displays.
The stores will feature expanded departments with a broader range of products.
Improvements are also being made with online pickup and delivery areas.
“Our stores often serve as the heartbeat of the communities we operate in, and these remodels are a testament to our dedication to enhancing that role,” said Annie Walker, senior vice president of the East Business Unit at Walmart.
