Comcast Corp. CEO Brian Roberts saw a noticeable 4.5 percent drop in his 2024 pay, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
His pay in 2024 was $33.86 million compared to $35.47 million in 2023, according to Comcast’s annual proxy report.
Roberts’ 2023 compensation was his highest in four years at the point.
Between 2023 and 2024, Roberts’ $2.5 million base salary increased by one dollar. However, his stock option income decreased from $9.2 million to $5.75 million.
Despite those decreases, Comcast’s compensation committee highlighted Roberts because he’s “provided invaluable long-term vision and stability as he continued to lead the execution of our company’s strategy worldwide, especially in light of competitive challenges.”
Comcast President Michael Cavanagh, the media and technology conglomerate’s second-highest earner, also saw his salary decrease. He earned $28.26 million last year after earning $29.58 million in compensation in 2023.
Meanwhile, some other Comcast executives saw an increase in their salary.
For example, Comcast CFO Jason Armstrong saw 30 percent increase in his salary, from $11.59 million in 2023 to $15.1 million last year.
Overall, Comcast reported $123.7 billion in revenue in 2024, along with a $16.2 billion profit. This was a 5.2 percent increase from the previous year.
