Former Eagles center Jason Kelce and retired Villanova Wildcats head coach Jay Wright have both been nominated for a Sports Emmy for outstanding personality/on-air talent, writes Ariel Simpson for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Kelce and Wright are two of five nominees, alongside Nick Saban, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Richard Sherman.
After retiring from the Eagles in 2024, Kelce, a Haverford resident, created a podcast with his brother Travis, tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. Their podcast, New Heights, won several awards.
Kelce then went on to join ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown, as an analyst. His on-air career continued with the start of his weekly show, They Call It Late Night.
The former center already has a history when it comes to the Emmys. The documentary covering Kelce’s career during the 2022 Super Bowl, Kelce, was nominated for two Sports Emmys.
The former Villanova basketball head coach is up for his first potential award. Wright acts as an analyst for TNT and CBS, where he focuses on college basketball.
Wright assisted with the coverage of the 2025 NCAA Tournament and joined the in-arena studio during the Final Four game.
The Sports Emmy Awards will announce the winner on May 20.
