QVC spokesmodel Susanne Thomson is suing Nestle after suffering injuries from an exploding San Pellegrino bottle, writes Abraham Gutman for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Thomson purchased a six-pack of San Pellegrino bottles, which sat in her basement for three weeks. According to a lawsuit filed last week in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, she placed the bottles on her kitchen counter on Aug. 12, 2023, when one exploded, lacerating her right wrist.
Thomson and her husband, Blair, sued the brand’s owner, the Swiss food conglomerate Nestle, alleging the explosion was caused by a defect.
Since her right wrist was injured, Thomson has undergone several surgeries, most recently in January. Still, her hand remains scared and she still experiences pain, along with limited hand movements.
J.B. Dilsheimer, the Stampone O’Brien Dilsheimer Holloway attorney representing Thomson, said that the injury is particularly devastating in her line of work, as she demonstrates products like lotions and creams on television.
“Her hands are essential to what she does, not just that they work but also how they look,” said Dilsheimer.
Thomson still works at QVC, but her hours have decreased, and she no longer performs the same tasks, he added.
