Two of the best restaurants in the Philadelphia region are local to West Chester, write Kae Lani Palmisano, Adam Erace, Jason Sheehan, and David Wesolowski for Philadelphia Magazine.
Ground Provisions and Andiario, both located in West Chester, serve signature dishes with local flare that make them among the best in the region.
Ground Provisions is a 100 percent plant-based dining room started by Rich Landau and Kate Jacoby. The cozy space is open Wednesday through Saturday and offers a multi-course “Farmer’s Feast” that’s accessible through reservation only. They have a smaller bar snack menu available for walk-ins.
Ground Provisions sources many of its ingredients from local farms, including Landau and Jacoby’s personal micro garden. Recent menu items include a chicory salad with black garlic Caesar dressing and cured tofu, and a tarte tatin with roasted walnuts and caramel.
In a similar style, Andiario features pre-set dinners developed by chef Anthony Andiario. Andiario’s menus items are not available in advance and change weekly according to seasonal ingredients.
When it’s not sold out, Andiario’s is available through reservation only. Recent menu items include fir-smoked brook trout and paccheri with veal ragu.
