Taylor Brooke has lived in two different places in Pennsylvania that gave her Wawa and Sheetz. Now she’s highlighting the biggest difference between the two popular convenience store chains in a recent article for WJBR.com.
1. The Ordering Experience
Wawa feels streamlined and refined, “like an efficient hoagie-building machine,” Brooke wrote. Sheetz is more like a personalized free-for-all, with endless customization options.
2. The Food Selection
Wawa has a more classic deli-style menu and makes you feel like you’re making a responsible choice.
The Sheetz menu reads like a “carnival food stand met a fast-food joint and had a delicious, deep-fried baby,” Brooke writes.
3. Coffee, Coffee, Coffee
Wawa coffee, a sacred institution, is reliable, smooth and “fuels half of the East Coast,” while also providing comfort flavors.
Sheetz actually has a fancier coffee setup with made-to-order lattes and frappes.
4. The Vibe & Atmosphere
Wawas are bright, clean and gets you in and out quickly. Sheetz leans into the party gas station aesthetic with bright colors, bold fonts “and a layout that screams,“You will leave here with a snack you didn’t plan on buying.”
5. The Cult Following
Wawa and Sheetz fans are passionate, but it’s different kinds of passion.
