Two Delaware County businessmen have brought a new food combination to Springfield—the Crossover, reports Bob Kelly of Kelly Drives on Fox 29 Philadelphia.
Bill McKee and Tom Shivers, both of Glen Mills, opened PhastBreak Cheesesteaks back in September in in Springfield.
Out of their shop came the Crossover—a doughnut and pizza combo, though customers can vary the filling.
The Crossover name refers to a dribbling technique in basketball.
PhastBreak co-owner Tom Shivers grew up in Eddystone, graduated from Ridley High School, and was a standout basketball player for Ursinus College.
McKee grew up in Aston and graduated from Sun Valley High School. He’s played pro football and has owned 26 nightclubs, including Boomerangs in Essington, Brownies in Woodlyn and Pulsations in Concord Township, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Daily Times.
“The Crossover is a must try, just because of the crust,” said McKee’s wife, Ocean Sapphire. “The crust is going to remind you of a doughnut but in a sweet and savory sense because it is fried. The inside you can add whatever you want. “
PhastBreak also features an all-inclusive menu of cheesesteaks, hoagies, sandwiches, pizza and salads., along with family specials and kids meals.
