A new filet mignon sandwich restaurant, Nick Filet, is opening in Wayne this December and it’s owned by a 2016 Radnor High graduate, writes Marlene Lang for  patch.com.

The restaurant, an affordable, steakhouse quality meal alternative to fast food burgers and cheesesteak shops, will open in the Wayne Square Shopping Center at 313 E. Lancaster Ave.

Brandon Howell is counting on his lifetime experience in the area, knowing where people go after school and on weekends,  to make the first Nick Filet franchise a success.

“I felt like I knew the area and what business here would look like,” he said.

Howell was one of Nick Filet’s first employees at its home store in Paoli , working his way up to COO and general manager before tackling a franchise.

Now living in Villanova, Howell still takes class part time at Delaware County Community College while he builds his business career.

Nick Filet is known for its $8.99 cooked-to-order filet mignon sandwich on a toasted Amoroso Kaiser roll. Sandwiches are built to order with melted cheese and free toppings.

Philadelphia Magazine named Nick Filet a “Best of Philly 2020” winner for its $16.99 filet mignon and lobster Surf & Turf Sandwich.
