Rental buses and watch parties made sure that Delaware County had a piece of the action in Friday’s Eagles celebration parade, writes Madeleine Wright for CBS News Philadelphia.
Joe Magee, owner of Marty Magee’s Irish Pub in Prospect Park, rented five school buses, repeating what he did in 2018 to bring Eagles fans from his bar to the parade at 8 AM.
“It’s very difficult to navigate how to get downtown from Delaware County and back,” Magee said. “We have so many great patrons in this area and all the surrounding towns … to be able to bring them all together and all do something like this together and get them there safe for a reasonable price, it’s just really important to me.”
Vinny Walsh, owner of LaSpada’s Original Steaks & Hoagies in Glen Mills, closed his store Friday so his staff could go.
P.J. Whelihan’s Pub + Restaurant in Broomall hosted a watch party at 11 AM, with two Eagles-themed drinks for sale—Let’s Hunt Lemonade and a Hurts So Good Shot.
The Roosevelt Community Center in Middletown hosted its watch party, a family-friendly event where kids got to make Eagles hats and play games.
