Villanova University makes the top 100 list of most selective schools nationally at No. 70. Its acceptance rate was 25.1 percent, with a matriculation rate of 29.9 percent.
Harvard University remains the most selective university nationwide, with an acceptance rate of only 3.5 percent.
Meanwhile, applications to accredited colleges and universities have risen 83 percent in the past 10 years, largely due to a simplified application process.
