Film actor and Downingtown native Miles Teller has lost his family’s home to the Los Angeles wildfires, writes Bedatri D. Choudhury for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The Tellers lost their home to the Palisades Fire, one of four wildfires currently burning across the Los Angeles region. Teller’s wife Keleigh Teller posted several photos to Instagram on Thursday, Jan. 9 to update fans, led by a photo of their home covered in smoke.
These wildfires are among the most devastating in California history, displacing over 180,000 people in the region, including many celebrities. The Palisades Fire alone has destroyed nearly 27 square miles of land and thousands of structures.
Teller is not the only local actor who has been impacted by the wildfires: Philadelphia native Kevin Bacon and his family were in L.A. right as the fires began.
Bacon and his family are longtime supporters of local arts and theatre, specifically in Phoenixville. Bacon’s wife Kyra Sedgwick posted to Instagram with messages of grief and support for the city of L.A.
Amid the devastation, both Teller and Sedgwick expressed support for first responders, with Sedgwick writing, “Thank you to the brave first responders and praying for those who have been affected by these terrible fires!”
