Delaware County residents lined State Street outside of the Media Theatre in Media Borough on Friday night, Jan. 17, to witness the highly anticipated Delco: The Movie premiere, writes Stephanie Farr for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Viewers donned a variety of outfits from ballgowns and tuxedos to Eagles jerseys. Others wore shirts that proudly declared their love for Delco.
Three showings of the movie over the weekend were sold out, the theatre packed with the cast and crew of the film along with their families, VIPs, business sponsors and donators.
Additional shows were added on Sunday and Monday, allowing more fans the opportunity to catch the film.
In attendance at the premiere were Delaware County native Chris Pierdomenico, the film’s director, writer and editor; and Leah Cevoli, the producer.
“It’s overwhelming. I’m just so happy people care about this. These are my characters and I wrote the story but I hope this is everybody’s story,” Pierdomenico said.
Jeff Pfeiffer, Steve Harding and Jenna Kuerzi, the film’s leading actors, attended the first showing.
Fellow cast members Brian O’Halloran, Brian Anthony Wilson, and Brian Dunkleman were there, along with Philadelphia Union minority owner and movie sponsor Matt Wallach, Philadelphia Union forward Sébastien Le Toux, and U.S. Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon.
