There’s Snow in Delaware County. Time to Break Out the Sleds

Now that the snow has arrived, it's time to find your favorite sledding hill.

Now that there’s snow on the ground, it’s time to run for the hills with sleds in hand.

Here in Delaware County, there are five particularly good hills to check out this winter, writes Bailey King and Dan McGuade for Philadelphia Magazine.

Ridley Creek State Park, with its official address at 1023 Sycamore Mills Road in Media, has several hills that are great for sledding, so take your pick.

Strath Haven High School at 205 South Providence Road in Wallingford is a well-known and well-worn sledding spot.

Kids line up behind the high school when it snows and the school paper even refers to the location as the “sledding hill.”

Clayton Park and Golf Course at 1 Conchester Road in Glen Mills is a natural sledding mecca, as are most golf courses. You can also check out Cobbs Creek Golf Course at 7400 Lansdowne Ave. with its rolling hills.

Rose Tree Park at 1671 N. Providence Road in Media features a wide hillside for some low-key sledding.

Finally, Odorisio Park at 418 Fairview Drive in Wayne offers three hills surrounding a baseball field.
