Widener President Stacey Robertson Makes Admired CEO Series
Philadelphia Business Journal recognized Widener University President Stacey Robertson as one of its most admired CEOs in 2024.
Robertson, originally from Scottsdale, Arizona, became president of the Chester university in July 2022,” writes Lisa Dukart for Philadelphia Business Journal.
“She has very publicly embraced the idea that the university is in a location where it can make a difference in the lives of its neighbors, and opportunities for partnerships abound,” said Widener Executive Director of Communication Mary Allen.
Under Robertson’s two-year watch, Widener enrollment has grown 70 percent, and now has up to 900 first-year students this academic year.
The Widener president describes welcoming the largest and most diverse undergraduate class two years in a row as a distinguishing moment in her time as Widener CEO.
Robertson has partnered with the Chester Upland School District so high school students who qualify could access a $100,000 Widener scholarship over four years.
The university also partnered with the Philadelphia Union in Chester to provide educational opportunities and internships with the team.
“I try to create a culture in which everyone feels a sense of belonging and we all understand that the success of students is our greatest achievement,” she said.
