From ballet performances to weekend shopping, there is no shortage of festive holiday events for the community this holiday season, writes Gina Lizzo for Main Line Today.
Here is a list of three holiday events happening in Chester County this winter.
Phoenixville Firebird Festival: While currently postponed to Feb 1., the Firebird Festival is when a 20-ft tall phoenix is built by community members. At the yearly festival with dancers, craft sales, and food vendors, the phoenix is set on fire to symbolize life, rebirth, and the vibrant Phoenixville community.
Holiday Artisan Shopping Weekend at Wayne Art Center: Dec. 13-15. Over 30 local artisans will share their work at this annual weekend-long event. Items for sale will include apparel, ceramics, and handmade homewares, in addition to locally-made chocolates and wines. Admission to the center is free to the public.
The Nutcracker at Brandywine Ballet: Dec. 13-15. A holiday tradition for Brandywine Ballet since 1985, The Nutcracker will run for six performances at the Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall at West Chester University. Tickets range from $30-50, with a morning performance specifically for student and senior groups on Dec 13.
