‘Mare’ Creator Brad Ingelsby Extends HBO Deal for Three Years
The man who helped put Delaware County on the map with “Mare of Easttown,” Brad Ingelsby, has extended his deal with HBO for another three years, writes Joe Otterson for Variety.
Brad Ingelsby, a graduate of Archbishop Carroll High School and Villanova University, both in Radnor, is currently preparing the limited series “Task” for HBO.
“Task” stars Mark Ruffalo and debuts in 2025. Several scenes were shot in Delaware County.
The writer/producer has been tied to HBO since 2021, when “Mare of Easttown” debuted.
Ingelsby created the series and was executive producer and showrunner.
The murder drama starred Kate Winslet as detective Mare Sheehan and was essentially a fictional version of Delaware County, with many of its scenes shot here.
“Mare” was a critical and popular success for HBO. It picked up 16 Emmy nominations, including a nomination for Ingelsby for best writing in a limited series.
Series stars Kate Winslet, Julianne Nicholson, and Evan Peters earned Emmys for the series. Winslet also won a Golden Globe.
“Task” was also written by Ingelsby and is set in the Philadelphia suburbs.
The series follows Tom (Mark Ruffalo), an FBI agent leading a task force following up on a series of drug-house robberies.
