Montco Residents Turn to Professionals for Holiday Lighting
As the holiday season approaches, Montgomery County homeowners like Greg Bowden and Suzanne Taylor are turning to professional services to brighten their homes with festive lights, writes Erin Mcarthy for the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Schwenksville’s Greg Bowden hired Four Seasons Property Services to install 600 custom-cut holiday lights on his home for $5,000. Bowden shared that the labor-intensive process of decorating became too arduous for his family of four. “We used to do it on our own,” Bowden said, but putting up the lights was a difficult process. “I’m pulling them out of the garage. Half of them work. Half of them don’t work.” Watching professionals tackle the steep roof and intricate design, Bowden felt the investment was worthwhile.
Similarly, Suzanne Taylor recently moved to Plymouth Meeting and noticed her new neighborhood’s growing trend of professional holiday light displays. She didn’t want to spend thousands on the project. Instead, she enlisted a friend to hang her lights for a budget-friendly $500.
For many, the rise of professional lighting services offers a practical solution, as homes have become larger and schedules more demanding. Companies like Four Seasons cater to this demand, transforming the practice from a luxury for the affluent to an accessible option for middle- and upper-middle-class families.
