With hundreds of dairy farms in the state, Chester County is home to some delicious cheese, milk, and more to check out.

There are plenty of local dairy farms and creameries to get your cheese, ice cream, or milk straight from the source, writes Alexandra Jones for The Philadelphia Inquirer

Chester Springs Creamery at Milky Way Farm sells milk, ice cream, eggs, and ice cream cakes. The farm has been in the hands of the Matthews family for nearly 120 years, where they raise their cows on the lush, hundred-acre farm. In 2001, they started making their own ice cream on the farm and now make almost 50 flavors.

Baily’s Dairy of Pocopson Meadow Farm sells milk, ice cream, eggs, and seasonal produce. Some of their milk selection includes skin, 1.5 percent, whole, and chocolate milk, as well as half-and-half and heavy cream. Most of the farm’s cows are speckled American Lineback cattle.

Seven Stars Farm, in Phoenixville, specializes in heavy cream, yogurt, cheese, and butter. The farm is certified biodynamic, which means the entire farm is treated as a living organism through holistic farming. Their yogurt flavors are vanilla, maple, lemon, and plain.

Shellbark Hollow Farm, in Honey Brook, makes fresh and aged goat cheese, raw goat milk, and yogurt. The farm started with just two goats 20 years ago. Today, the farm has a herd of 100 Nubian goats, whose milk is transformed into many delicious creations, such as yogurt and artisan cheese. Their products are available right from the farm and many farmers markets they frequent around Chester County
