The Best Main Line Breweries Include 4 From Delaware County

Draft beers from these four Delaware County breweries are worth sampling.

For the best draft beers out there, you can’t beat what’s coming out of our local breweries in the Main Line region, including out of Delaware County breweries.

Here in Delaware County, there are four breweries worth checking out, writes the Main Line Today staff.

A multi-state franchise, but still a local favorite, Iron Hill Brewery in Media serves up the Philly Phavorite, a New England-style IPA with a 6.7 percent ABV; and Philly Chili Ale, a jalapeno cream ale with a 5.5 percent ABV.

Philly Chili Ale took a gold medal in the 2024 World Beer Cup.

Ship Bottom Brewery in Swarthmore has expanded from a humble Beach Haven, New Jersey location to three places in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including a Linvilla Orchard pop-up.

The Swarthmore brewhouse offers fall—themed cans like Cider Donut Hard Cider and Imperial Pumpkin Ale.  

Sterling Pig Brewery in Media is a small-batch brewery run by Loic Barnieu and Brian McConnel. They offer everything from IPAs and porters to stouts and pilsners.

Tired Hands Brewing Company is an internationally ranked six-barrel brewery with multiple locations, including a beer park in Newtown Square.

It specializes in Americanized Belgian and French les.
