Barsz Gowie Amon & Fultz (BGA&F) proudly sponsored and participated in the National Brain Tumor Society’s Greater Philadelphia Walk last Sunday.
Megan Yates, 28, a beloved administrative assistant at the firm, was first diagnosed with a brain tumor when she was just eight years old. She is now courageously battling two new brain tumors.
Despite what she has endured, Yates is focused on giving back. She led her own fundraising team, “Meg’s Brainy Bunch,” and raised more than $9,000 for the NBTS. The funds will go toward research, patient support, and advocacy programs.
“This journey has been full of challenges, but the love and support from my family, friends, and colleagues has been overwhelming,” said Yates. “Participating in this walk, with so many people by my side, is helping me cope with the long road ahead.”
In a powerful show of solidarity, Barsz Gowie Amon & Fultz team members joined Yates at the walk. They provided “Meg’s Brainy Bunch” swag for participants and, along with their families, walked in support of Yates.
“We are incredibly proud of Megan’s strength and determination,” said William B. Gowie Jr., BGA&F’s Managing Partner. “Our firm has rallied behind her, and we are honored to support such an important cause through the National Brain Tumor Society.”
BGA&F encourages others to support Yates’s team and the NBTS by donating online. Donations toward her efforts can be made until Oct. 24.
