In what could be dubbed “Operation Clean-Up,” Bucks County and the Heritage Conservancy have filed a complaint against Kingdom Provisions, a Pipersville slaughterhouse, for allegedly turning their agricultural conservation easement into an unsanctioned composting site, writes Jo Ciavaglia for the Bucks County Courier Times.  

The complaint, filed in Bucks County Common Pleas Court, aims to get the company back on track with state and local regulations. 

Plumstead Township originally filed a civil complaint against Kingdom Provisions LLC and its parent company, Kingdom Equity Partners LLC.  

It alleges that the company has been composting animal remains and applying blood to the fields without the proper paperwork. 

The neighborhood has not been amused, with complaints about foul odors and an influx of insects and turkey vultures. Neighbors have also cited concerns about groundwater contamination.  

Despite the owner’s assurances that the mess was under control, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) found more violations, including dumpsters leaking fluids and uncovered remains.  

With Plumstead Township and the Heritage Conservancy stepping in, it looks like the neighborhood might soon breathe easier.
